The windjet is a new generation of wind turbines that utilizes a rotor design vs. the traditional propeller design.
Our full size unit is a 3rd of the size of the GE and Vestas units and is rated many times the capacity. For wind farm applications we rate these units at 60 megawatts per acre. The rotors on the turbine simulates a jet engine capturing the same air passing through each rotor and utilizing more surface area to acquire the same energy but utilizing more of it, this contributes to the enhanced capacity. Other important enhancements are the patented designs in the tower, hydraulic storage system and electronic sensors.
Our window for generation is from 1 MPH of wind speed to over 100 MPH of wind speed. This generation system also allows us to store energy with the hydraulic Accumulators prior to releasing pressure to be converted to power. This storage system allows us to capture excess energy and store it at certain times of the day, and release pressure during peak times when the local utility needs it. This also allows us a more steady capacity and looking more like a coal fired utility to the grid. This system also gives us an advantage in our window of generating and is giving us the ability to be the first "smart wind turbine" and "first smart wind farm" that can provide power when the grid needs it not just when the wind blows.
